PORT FOURCHON, La. - (May 17, 2010) Army Staff Sgt. Jermaine Francis, from the 527th Engineer Battalion, Detachment 1, 844th Horizontal Company, supervises the trucks and tractors for safety issues. The Army trucks and tractors are moving rock and sand to fill gaps in the basin plains caused by past natural disasters. The U.S. Army is working in partnership with the U.S. Coast Guard, BP PLC, local residents, and other federal agencies to aid in preventing the spread of oil following the April 20 explosion on the mobile offshore drilling unit Deepwater Horizon.
