PORT FOURCHON, La. - (May 17, 2010) Melvin Silvestre, a contractor for Oilmop, helps clean up the Fort Fourchon coast by sifting through sand to find oil debris. Local residents volunteered to assist BP PLC, the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Army, and other federal agencies to aid in preventing the spread of oil following the April 20 explosion on the mobile offshore drilling unit Deepwater Horizon.
