NEW ORLEANS – Four turtles that were rescued and nursed back to health after being found in the oily waters of the Gulf of Mexico are now on exhibit at the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas.

The four Kemp’s Ridley sea turtles are among more than 100 that have been taken care of at the Audubon Aquatic Center.

“One of the turtles on exhibit is LA-15, the very first oiled sea turtle that came into our care on May 18,” said Michele Kelley, stranding coordinator for Audubon Nature Institute.

LA-15 and friends can be found in various exhibits in the Caribbean gallery and Mississippi River gallery at the aquarium.
