NEW ORLEANS -- The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries has closed more areas to fishing west of the Mississippi River.

The closures, effective immediately, cover a part of the territorial seasons, from the western shore of Caminada Pass to Belle Pass.

Wildlife and Fisheries officials say oil has been documented in that area, including tar balls on Fourchon Beach.

Here are specific coordinates given by the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries:

"The state's territorial seas seaward of the inside-outside shrimp line from the western shore of Caminada Pass at 90 degrees 02 minutes 46.597 seconds west longitude westward to the western shore of Belle Pass at 90 degrees 13 minutes 36 seconds west longitude."
