Body found near train track in the Riverbend, NOPD says

Police continue to investigate the discovery of a man's body that was found early Tuesday morning near Leake and S. Carrollton avenues.

NEW ORLEANS -- Police are investigating a crime scene near the train tracks in the Riverbend neighborhood. 

Early Tuesday morning, New Orleans Police officers started gathering near S. Carrollton and Leake Avenue, which runs along the levee. 

According to NOPD, a man's body was discovered early Tuesday morning near the railroad tracks in that area. 

Vehicular traffic continues to flow but congestion is possible. Police did halt train traffic as they continue to investigate. 

Classes at the YMCA Castle Kids Child Development Center were canceled Tuesday. This facility is in the Riverbend area where police are investigating.
