HOUMA, La. -- The death of an 11-year-old boy who died Saturday has been ruled an accidental drowning by the Terrebonne Parish Coroner's Office.
Al James, of Gray, was pulled from the bottom of a swimming pool at the Chateua Creole Apartments on Monarch Drive, according to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office. James had been swimming at the pool with other children.
Emergency personnel were called to the poll around 7 p.m. after James was pulled from the pool. He was unresponsive. CPR was performed on James. He was taken to the hospital where his was pronounced dead at 8:27 p.m., according to the sheriff's office.
