HOUMA, La. — A biker who told officers he had “so many drinks that he could not remember how many,” according to a police report, was jailed Saturday night after a patrolling Terrebonne deputy observed him driving erratically on Grand Caillou road.
Wayne Joseph Fazzio, 48, 5237 Grand Caillou Road, was charged with DWI and improper lane usage, sheriff’s office reports say.
Fazzio’s blue motorcycle was southbound when the deputy spotted it about 11 p.m., repeatedly crossing the center line of the highway, sometimes nearly colliding with oncoming traffic, reports say.
Stopped in the 3400th block of Grand Caillou Road, Fazzio was reportedly unsteady on his feet and smelled strongly of alcohol, reports say. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and a breathalyzer test measured his blood alcohol level at .252 percent.
Fazzio told the deputy he had been drinking earlier at a bar, then at a friend’s place. He could not recall the name of the bar, reports say.
