A parent who picked up his young daughter from school Friday driving a four-wheeler ATV is accused of reckless operation after school personnel reported his hasty departure.
William Douglas Jones, 23, 1925 W. Main St., argued with personnel at Schriever Elementary who asked him to wait until the buses left before departing with his daughter, according to the police report.
Teachers allegedly said Jones got on the four-wheeler with the child and rode off so fast that the machine threw rocks and almost flipped over.
Neither he nor the girl was wearing a helmet, witnesses said. Jones was ticketed with careless operation.
