THIBODAUX, La. — A 49-year-old homeless man was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated rape after his preteen victim told their parents he had sexual contact with them, authorities said.
Brian Stickel, who lives in the woods near the victim’s home, was taken into custody and is being held on a $300,000 bond.
The victim’s information is being withheld on account of their age.
According to Thibodaux Public Information Officer David Melancon, Stickel took the victim into the woods near the home “promising to shoot a bow and arrow.” While in the woods, Stickel had sexual contact with the victim, Melancon said.
A few weeks earlier, Stickel allegedly gave the victim money and had a sexual encounter at the victim’s home, Melancon said.
Police found Stickel sitting in front of an apartment across the street.
