HOUMA, La. -- Police are looking for two men who allegedly shot a man in the head and robbed a victim early Wednesday evening, according to Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Jerry Larpenter.

Around 3 a.m., deputies were called to an apartment in the 3600 block of Thomas Drive. When authorities arrived on the scene, deputies found a 26-year-old man who had been shot in the head, said the sheriff's office.

Two masked men forced their way into the apartment after knocking on the door, said the sheriff's office. The man was shot in the head, and then the men demanded that a girlfriend who was in the apartment with a small child give them money.  The two masked men then fled the apartment.

The victim was taken to Terrebonne General Hospital, before being moved to another hospital for further medical attention.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office at 985-876-2500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-743-7433.
