GRAND ISLE, La. - The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office and the Grand Isle police are trying to figure out where 18 pounds of marijuana that washed ashore Tuesday came from.

Sheriff Craig Webre and Police Chief Euris DuBois said the suspected marijuana was found on the beach and is believed to have washed ashore.

Drug force task agents are working on trying to identify the source of the marijuana.

Police have also increased patrols along the shoreline as part of the investigation.
