Larose, La. --The driver who was pulled from a vehicle in Bayou Lafourche Sunday later died at a New Orleans hospital, according to State Police.
Around 3 p.m., Isaias Torres, 43, of Lockport, plunged his car into Bayou Lafourche. Torres, according to State Police, was headed south on LA 1 before he flipped his car into the waterway.
Torres' car went completely underwater before he could be pulled from the vehicle. He was taken initially to St. Anne Hospital and then later flown to University Hospital in New Orleans where he later died.
State Police believe alcohol may be a factor in the crash and blood was taken from Torres. The test results will be pending at the State Police Crime Lab. This crash remains under investigation.
