RACELAND, La. - A 45-year-old Raceland man was arrested twice for stealing in just over four hours Wednesday, according to Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre.
A spokesman said that Sherman Rambo was spotted trying to leave Walmart with about $50 of merchandise hidden inside of his jacket.
Deputies responded to the scene, got a description of the suspect, viewed surveillance footage and recognized the suspect as Rambo. Deputies went to his residence and said they spotted him getting out of a car. Deputies said Rambo admitted to the crime and was issued a summons for theft.
A few hours later, deputies responded to a call of a burglary where a man was seen taking a toolbox from a garage. Deputies said they spotted a man fitting the description of the suspect and confronted him. They said the suspect was Rambo. They said they located the toolbox nearby.
Webre said Rambo was identified by surveillance video from the victimized home.
Rambo was arrested and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux where he was booked with felony simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling. He is being held in lieu of $20,000 bond as set by Judge Ashly Bruce Simpson.
