TERREBONNE PARISH, La. — A Schriever man was arrested by Terrebonne Parish sheriff’s detectives for second-degree kidnapping and second-degree battery, authorities said Thursday.
Jason Livas, 28, remains in the Terrebonne Parish jail on a $150,000 bond.
According to Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Jerry Larpenter, deputies were called to Johnson Ridge Lane in regard to a woman being beaten and forced into the trunk of a car.
Detectives arrived, finding the woman – an ex-girlfriend of Livas – in the backseat of a gold-colored Toyota Camry, Larpenter said. Livas was at the house.
As deputies began walking towards the Camry, Livas ran, Larpenter said, before being caught after a short chase.
The 35-year-old woman, who had been beaten unconscious, had bruises to her face, head and upper body from being beaten and kicked by Livas, Larpenter said.
