THIBODAUX, La. - The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office arrested four juveniles for tossing rocks from a railroad trestle onto LA Highway 1, damaging at least four cars and sending one person to the hospital.

The incident occurred Saturday night at Lafourche Crossing in Thibodaux. The arrested were four teen-aged males 14-15 year old, said the sheriff's office.

Police said the rocks smashed into four cars and that one person had to go to the hospital when broken glass went into his eye.

"Tossing rocks onto vehicles traveling at over 50 miles per hour should be no one's idea of fun," said Sheriff Webre. "This is a serious crime that not only damages property, but could also be fatal. All it would take is one driver to over-react and strike a guardrail or an oncoming car, and multiple lives could potentially be lost. We ask for your help in bringing these criminals to justice."

The four juveniles were each charged with several counts of simple criminal damage to property and additional charges are possible. Each was released to the custody of their respective parents.
