RACELAND, La. – Lafourche Parish deputies say a standoff with two fugitives in Raceland ended peacefully Monday.

Sareel Poindexter, 38, and Lisa Gregoire, 24, had a stand off with deputies for two and a half hours on Sugar Street just off Sugar Mill Road. It began at 1:45 p.m. and ended at 4:15 p.m.

It wasn’t until deputies released a K-9 unit inside the home that the two fugitives surrendered.

Poindexter had eight active warrants and was considered armed and dangerous. Gregoire was wanted on criminal trespassing and disturbing the peace charges.

Poindexster and Gregoire are being held in the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux.
