TERREBONNE PARISH, La. - Several teens are accused of using BB guns to rob people in Houma's Lisa Park neighborhood, authorities said.
Two 15-year-olds and a 14-year-old are charged with armed robbery, and Joshua Douglas, 17, is wanted in two armed robberies, the Terrebonne Sheriff's Office says.
Deputies are not releasing the younger boys' names because they are minors.
The first robbery happened Friday night on Alma Street, deputies said. Three teenage boys were walking when four boys on bicycles pulled out what appeared to be BB guns and robbed them of a cellphone and wallet. They used a BB gun to shoot one of the teens in the arm, finger and back before pistol-whipping him with the gun, deputies said.
Deputies were called at 10:35 p.m., and about three hours later they got a call of a robbery on Cascade Drive. The victim this time was a 20-year-old man on a skateboard. He was unharmed, but the teens took his cellphone, the Sheriff's Office said.
A deputy saw two people who fit the teens' descriptions about 4 a.m. Saturday and arrested them after a brief chase. One boy had a BB gun, according to the Sheriff's Office. An investigation led deputies to arrest the third teen, and all are were the Terrebonne juvenile jail today.
Anyone with information about Douglas’ whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 876-2500 or Crime Stoppers, 1-800-743-7433. Callers may eligible for a cash reward.
