THIBODAUX, La. — Thirteen days after being released from jail, Warren Coler is back in custody, arrested for what Thibodaux Police said was his involvement in a Tuesday night shooting.

Coler, 21, is charged with aggravated second degree battery and simple criminal damage to property. Police said Coler was with the victim and a group of friends in the 600 block of Government Circle when he picked up a gun from his car and fired a shot, striking the man in the leg, TPD Public Information Officer David Melancon said.

An investigation led police to his Thibodaux home Wednesday morning.

Coler had been released less than two weeks ago after serving a juvenile life sentence for a prior armed robbery.

He’s now being held at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on a $255,000 bond.
