NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Want to buy a skyscraper?
The 45-story Plaza Tower in New Orleans is on the auction block — with a minimum bid of $250,000.
A joint venture putting the long-empty building for sale, New Orleans-based Corporate Realty and DJM Realty, a national disposition company, says the skyscraper has a gutted interior shell and possible environmental hazards have been fixed.
The Plaza Tower was built in 1964. It also has an eight-story parking garage and a 30,000-square-foot annex.
The building is the third-tallest in both New Orleans and Louisiana. The last office tenants of the building left in 2002. A previous plan to convert the building into luxury condominiums failed.
Bids are due Sept. 20.
