PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) — Three people were injured after their boat exploded and caught fire between Petit Bois Island and Bayou Cassotte, off the coast of Pascagoula.
WLOX-TV reports (http://bit.ly/Lu44mA ) the captain of a passing boat spotted the 21-foot pleasure craft explode Friday and rescued the three passengers from the water. According to the Coast Guard, all three suffered burns; one person was also cut on the leg.
The Coast Guard sent a crew to the damaged vessel to put out the fire and stabilize it.
What sparked the explosion remains under investigation.
