NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Our Lady of Holy Cross College, which faced the loss of accreditation after its president and board of trustees were fired last year via email, has been removed from probationary status by the regional organization that certifies college academic credentials.
The Times-Picayune reports (http://bit.ly/MB7LUX ) the action was taken Thursday during the annual meeting of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges in Chantilly, Va.
The college, in the city's Algiers area, had been placed on probation in December 2011 after a commission investigation. Our Lady of Holy Cross officials later submitted a report to the organization to clarify the workings of its leadership structure.
