VALENTINE, La. (AP) — State police say one person was killed in a three-vehicle crash on La. Highway 308 in Lafourche Parish.
Trooper Evan Harrell says 46-year-old Brian Gros of Lockport was driving a 2006 Volvo tractor-trailer south on La. 308 just south of Valentine around 10:30 a.m. Saturday when he came around a curve and saw a 2006 International semitrailer slowing down.
Harrell says Gros steered left to avoid hitting the International semi-trailer and entered the northbound traffic lane, where he collided head-on with a car.
The impact pushed the car, driven by 29-year-old Shantelle Hancock of Cut Off, into the International tractor-trailer, driven by 50-year-old Mitchell Brown of Lafayette.
Harrell says Hancock, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lafourche Parish Coroner's Office.
