NEW ORLEANS – Police arrested an 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old juvenile in connection with the shooting of two people in the 1400 block of Gallier Street, according to New Orleans Police Department spokesperson Officer Hilal Williams.
Deloyd Jones, 18, and an unnamed juvenile were arrested and charged in the shooting of a man and 76-year-old woman on Feb. 23, according to Williams.
“Detectives learned the suspects drove a white Dodge Charger to the 1300 block of Gallier Street and opened fire into an occupied house with children and an adult inside,” said Williams in a statement. “No one was injured at that location. The driver of the vehicle spotted the male target victim in the 1400 block of Gallier Street and opened fire striking the victim multiple times in the body. The suspect’s gunshots also went through a wall of a home and struck the 76 year old female that was inside.”
Jones and the juvenile were charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery, aggravated criminal damage, illegal use of a weapon and illegal carrying of a weapon.
