BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Baton Rouge police have arrested a 50-year-old woman in the shooting death of her husband.
Cpl. Don Coppola said in a news release Euphoria Beauchamp was booked Monday on a charge of second-degree murder.
Coppola says Euphoria Beauchamp is accused of shooting her 55-year-old husband, Noel, Saturday morning as he was driving his pickup on Airline Highway.
Coppola says Euphoria Beauchamp told detectives that after the fight with her husband, she armed herself and shot him.
He says detectives later discovered that the facts of the altercation were not consistent with her sequence of events.
It was unclear whether Euphoria Beauchamp has an attorney.
