4-year-old found alone in home littered with animal feces

HOUMA – A mother and her boyfriend are accused of leaving her 4-year-old boy alone Thursday morning with nine dogs in a feces-ridden home.

Kerrie Albarado, 26, and Troy Segura, 39, both of 1303 Barataria Blvd., were arrested and charged with child desertion and three counts of cruelty to juveniles, according to Houma Police.

Officers were called to the home at about 9:38 a.m. by Terrebonne Parish Animal Control workers who were there inspecting dogs.
Workers were there ensuring the dogs were registered and had rabies shots after a complaint filed with Terrebonne Animal Control, said Valerie Robinson, Animal Shelter manager.

Police said several dogs were at the home, including a pit bull nearly as big as the boy.

Officers found Albarado in a nearby bar watching television, police said. She allegedly told officers Segura, her boyfriend, lived at the home with her and left the boy alone. Their other boys, ages 7 and 6, were at school.

Animal Control took a pit bull and eight dchnauzers from the home, Robinson said. They also took two birds and a guinea pig.
Child Protection Services deem the home unfit for the children because of its condition, police said. The home allegedly had no bed or food for the children and animal feces and urine were found throughout the house.

The children were taken by Child Protection Services. Segura returned to the home later and was arrested, police said.

how can people even think of living like this?.. and with your children is even worse...the dogs were most likely feed before her children,,, and she sits at the bar,,,, and blame goes to the boy friend?.. get real,,,these poor children just might be blessed now,,, it's a shame how most women treat the children like trash, and the trash they call their ,,MAN... is everything to them... i say keep her kids safe,, keep them from her please,,, if she loved her kids she could have given them a better life,,, but she's busy in the bar,,, sicko,,,

I think the both of them should be locked up and never let go, these poor children does not deserve this type of treatment, instead of being in a bar she should have been being a mom to these innocent children. Parents today don't care about there kids, maybe they should stop having them all they do is creating problems for themselves and harm to children because moms today are useless. As for the male figure he has no moral values about himself which a man is not going to go any further than the woman let him, so that gives him all the reason in the world to take advantage, what a waste the both of them.

this is sad why do these woman who don,nt have the abliy to be a mother keep kids they can,nt take care of and not give to someone that will give the love and care they need it not a bad thing to give up a child that will end like this and she knew this

What does being a democrat have to do with being a sicko? The problems children are having in our society began when our culture told us that fathers were dispensable. Most judges automatically grant custody to moms, no matter how awful they may be. And for too many women, having a bad man is better than having no man at all. When children see their parents making their own happiness and welfare more important than the child's, this is how THEY learn to parent. The 'Me" generation has certainly screwed up our children. And not only are our children are the future of our world, one day they will be caretakers of us all. They should be our most precious resource, both as parents and as a community.

Genes61vetyahoo: You're obviously an idiot, and a victim of the lowered standards of education you so idiotically attributed to democrats (NOT "democrates"). By the way, "hyena's" implies possession, "downfall" is all one word, and you can't "neuter" a woman--even in the sense you've implied. Go back to school and be glad that Bush (another NON democrat) instituted the "no child left behind" act....at the very least you'll provide the illusion of being educated.
