NEW ORLEANS -- A new AMBER alert in Tennessee was issued for two missing boys who were allegedly kidnapped by their father from their grandmother in Florida.  The Tennessee Bureau of Investigations   Authorities and the FBI called Slidell Police for information because it was the last time the father was on the radar. (A level II advisory has been issued in Louisiana, while Florida and Alabama have had full AMBER alerts.)

Around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, Joshua Hakken, 35, allegedly broke into his mother-in-law's Tampa home, tied her up and abducted Cole Hakken, 4, and Chase Hakken, 2.

Police are also searching for the boys' mother, Sharyn Hakken, 34, but they are unsure if she had anything to do with the abduction.

The parental rights of Joshua Hakken and Sharyn Hakken were recently terminated.

Joshua Hakken was arrested in June after a hotel called the Slidell police complaining of a disturbance.  When police arrived, they brought both parents into the room where the children were located. Drugs and weapons were present and the parents were talking "in a bizarre manner" about passing through Slidell to head to California to "take a journey to the Armageddon," according to Slidell police.

Police called the Office of Child Support and the children were taken. Joshua Hakken was arrested for possession, and two weeks later, a call came from a foster care in Tangipahoa. He was trying to take the children at gunpoint. The attempt was unsuccessful and he’s been off the radar in Louisiana since, according to Slidell police.  Hakken was due in city court in July of 2012, a month after the arrest, to answer to the charges, but he didn't show.  An arrest was issued for failure to appear and is still active.

Other than the June arrest, Slidell police said the family has no ties to the area. They do not believe Joshua Hakken will return to the area but remain on alert.

Cole Hakken is 3'9" tall, 44 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. Chase Hakken is 3' tall, 33 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. Both were last seen wearing unknown colors of pajamas.

They may be traveling in a black, 2006 GMC pickup truck with Florida license plate tag #U95KT. It is a University of South Florida tag.

Officials said the parents may be armed and are believed to be dangerous.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of these children should contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 813-247-8200.
