NEW ORLEANS -- The Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport has announced temporary intermittent closures of two runways throughout most of July.
The closures of the North/South runway (Runway 1-19) will be shut down from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, from July 2 through July 31.
Arrivals and departures will be temporarily restricted to using the East/West runway (Runway 10-28) during this time.
Airport officials say some homes in Kenner may notice an increase in aircraft noise during the closures.
The temporary runway closures will not impact any flight schedules.
