MARRERO, La. – After getting a tip, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies and agents from the U.S. Marshal’s Office arrested a Marrero man for an April murder, according to JP spokesman Col. John Fortunato.

Tuesday evening, DeJean Turner, 20, of Marrero, was arrested at the Siesta Motel on the Westbank Expressway, said Fortunato, after getting a Crimestoppers tip reporting Turner's location.

Turner was wanted for the murder of Leonel Rodriguez on April 13 in unincorporated Gretna.

“Upon being questioned regarding the Murder of Rodriguez, Turner admitted his participation,” said Fortunato. He was booked with one count of second-degree murder.
