MANDEVILLE, La. -- The St. Tammany Parish School system says a school battling a bat problem since the holidays is now bat-free.
It’s a follow-up to a story Eyewitness News told you about, first, last week.
The bats were discovered at Mandeville Junior High after the break. Since then, efforts to remove them have been slow-going because bats are a protected species and can’t be killed.
Almost all classes had been removed from the building as well, but since they believe the bats are gone, students should return soon.
