PEARL RIVER, La. - A boil water notice was issued for Pearl River due to a water system failure early Thursday morning, according to the St. Tammany Fire Protection District No. 11.
The system failure occurred possibly from a lightning strike to the system pump on Thursday.
The system and pressure have been restored, but the mayor put a "boil water before consumption" order in place.
It is in effect until further notice.
