NEW ORLEANS -- Three men riding in a green pickup truck drove around the Lakeview and Gentilly area and robbed three different people during a span of less than 10 minutes Wednesday, according to the NOPD.

Police said that in each of the incidents an armed gunman approached the residents who were doing normal activities around their homes around 3:30 p.m.

22-year-old Jamal Bartley, 21-year-old Gerald Williams and 19-year-old Jarvis Brown were arrested.

Police responded to a call after one of the crimes and found out that one of the victims had a phone tracker on their phone. Police tracked the men to an intersection near Iberville and Marais Street and they conducted a traffic stop where they located a loaded gun and several stolen items.

After the detectives detained Jamal Bartley and Gerald Williams they confessed to their involvement in the robberies. Jarvis Brown was uncooperative during the investigation. Based on the found evidence and circumstances surrounding this investigation the trio was booked into Central Lockup and charged with three counts of Armed Robbery, Illegal Carrying of weapons and Possession of Marijuana.

According to a police report, the first armed robbery occurred at 3:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of Harrison Avenue.  A man was working on a home, when another man came up from behind armed with a gun.  The armed assailant went through victim’s back pockets and then fled in a green pickup truck.

Immediately after the Harrison Avenue armed robbery, on the other side of City Park in the 6500 block of Gen. Diaz Street, a woman was getting out of her vehicle when a man came up her with a gun and demanded her purse.  The armed robbery, again, left the scene in a green pickup truck, said the police report.

Moments later a third armed robbery occurred two block from the Gen. Diaz one. This time in the 900 block of Porteus Street.  A woman was sitting on her porch, when a man approached, pointed a gun to her head and demanded her belongings, police said. After compiling with the armed robber, the man fled in a green pickup truck.
