NEW ORLEANS -- It looks like Mayor Ray Nagin and New Orleans taxpayers are off the hook on a multi-million dollar judgment awarded in the city's crime camera case.

Judge rosemary ledet dismissed claims Friday that Nagin or the city was liable for any damages.

back in November, a jury ruled against Dell Computer and in favor of Southern Electronics, which was awarded just over $15 million.

Southern Electronics had argued Dell and the city's former technology officer, Greg Meffert, stole their crime camera technology.

the judge was to rule on whether the city shared any financial responsibility in the decision.

Friday's ruling clears the city of any wrongdoing in the case.
