NEW ORLEANS - The city's inspector general says municipal court judges are still using take-home cars despite the fact that their use fails to meet the city's take-home car policy.
Inspector General Ed Quatrevaux recommended last year that the judges stop using the cars.
In a recent letter, he pointed out that the city continues to provide the judges with the cars, despite the fact the judges are not required to respond to critical needs on a 24-hour basis.
Quatrevaux said the cars are expensive to operate, insure and maintain.
