MARRERO, La. – Authorities are investigating a late morning bank robbery in Marrero, according to the FBI.
Around 11:30 a.m., a man robbed the Capital One Bank in the 4600 block of the Westbank Expressway, the FBI said in a statement.
"The suspect entered the location and approached a teller window. While he did not produce a handgun, he demanded money via a note that he handed to the teller. He left the bank with an undetermined amount of US currency," Special Agent in Charge Michael Anderson, a spokesperson for the FBI said.
According to the FBI, the suspect is described as a black male, 6’2”, approximately 300 pounds, wearing a black shirt, black cap, gray sweat pants, black shoes and dark sunglasses. He was carrying a blue bag with a drawstring.
Authorities believe the same man robbed the Capitol One Bank Branch at 91 Westbank Expressway on April 15.

The Metropolitan Orleans Bank Security Association is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of this bank robber.
