NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Originally scheduled to open on Halloween, H&M, Hennes & Mauritz, is set to open their first location in the French Quarter on Nov. 16.
The new store will be located at the corner of Decatur and St. Louis streets and feature 32,000 square feet of clothes and accessories. Store officials did not give a reason for the delay.
“It is a significant achievement for H&M to open our first location in a city known for its deep routed culture and triumphant spirit,” said Daniel Kulle, U.S. President for H&M.
“We have long admired this historic destination and are delighted to celebrate our arrival at one of the country’s most iconic locations, the French Quarter, during such a festive time of the year.”
The New Orleans store will debut the first H&M Home in-store department in the United States, as well as feature fashion for people of all ages, with separate “store within store” sections for accessories, lingerie, and sports apparel, and the store’s plus-size line H&M+.
The new location will also carry the Swedish retailer’s fantastic children’s collection, which will feature quality clothing for kids of all ages, from newborn to fourteen.
H&M at Marketplace is located at 418 N. Peters Street.
