JEFFERSON PARISH, La --  Firefighters responded to a blaze that sent smoke billowing into the sky in Old Jefferson Wednesday.

According to Jefferson Parish Fire officials, the fire broke out at a garage in the 100 block of Central Drive. Officials confirmed there were no injuries.

The fire erupted in an airplane model maker's garage, officials said. Jefferson Parish Fire Dept Director Joe Greco says a ultra-light plane and several half built ones were destroyed in the two-alarm fire.

Greco says the fire was controlled by firefighters within 15 minutes.
