METAIRIE, La. - The executive director of the Jefferson Parish Housing Authority has resigned after the parish council passed a resolution earlier this week urging that he be fired.
Sources tell Eyewitness News he turned in his resignation Friday.
Barry Bordelon was cited in a federal audit, alleging there were hundreds of thousands dollars in misspent money and unsupported costs at the authority.
Bordelon was invited by council to appear at the meeting, but he didn't show..
The council agreed to ask for Bordelon's resignation in executive session, though only the housing authority can take that action.
