JEFFERSON, La. -- The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office has secured an arrest warrant for a 37-year-old man in an armed robbery Friday afternoon.
The robbery happened around 3:45 p.m. at a drug store in 6400 block of Airline Drive in Metairie.
Col. John Fortunato, a spokesman for the sheriff's office, said Jesse Dove was trying to fill a prescription for drugs, but when he was told the prescription was expired, he jumped over the counter and threatened to beat the pharmacist with brass knuckles if he didn't hand over the drugs.
Fortunato said Dove fled after the pharmacist complied.
Dove was last seen driving off in a blue 2002 Chevrolet pick-up, bearing LA license #X077130.
Deputies believe Dover is homeless and may be living in his vehicle.
