A Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office dispatcher and her aunt were arrested for shoplifting, officials said Thursday.

Aariel Dorsey, 21, was fired as a result of her role in taking items from a Family Dollar store shelf and putting them in her purse on June 13.

A video taken shows one of the women, later identified as Dorsey, wearing a light blue JPSO uniform.

Detectives met with Dorsey two days after the shoplifting and admitted she was the one in the video.

Additionally, Aariel Dorsey’s aunt, 26-year-old Pia Dorsey was identified as the second suspect and was arrested and issued a misdemeanor summons.
