NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish judge Tuesday found a man guilty of raping a girl multiple times between the time she was 9 years old and 16 years old.
Judge Arthur Hunter found 43-year-old Keith Scott guilty of aggravated rape, said Christopher Bowman, a spokesman for the District Attorney’s Office.
Bowman said the victim testified that she did not report the rapes, which happened between 2000 and 2006, until 2007 because Scott said he would harm her family.
Prosecutors also presented testimony that Scott sexually assaulted the victim’s cousin in 1994.
Sentencing is set for Aug. 24, but state law dictates he be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
