KENNER, La. -- A Kenner Police officer has been suspended after being arrested for shoplifting while working an off-duty at a department store, according to police spokesman Lt. Wayne McInnis.
“Adam Matise is accused of removing a security sensor device from merchandise at the Kenner Wal-Mart store where he was working an off duty paid detail, placing the merchandise in a back pack and leaving the store without paying for the merchandise,” McInnis said in an e-mail.
Matise, who has worked for the department for approximately 18 months, was charged with two counts of theft, one count of possession of stolen property and one count of malfeasance in office, according to police.
He was placed on administrative leave at the time of his arrest, according to police.
