THIBODAUX – Lafourche Parish deputies and federal agents raided a string of alleged meth labs Friday and arrested four people on drug charges.

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force had been working on information related to a string of methamphetamine labs and distribution locations in the southern part of the parish, stretching from Lockport to Golden Meadow.

After conducting surveillance at one of the locations, agents stopped a car on La. 308 near Bollinger’s Shipyard. Fred Stevens Jr., 26 of Larose and Robertsdale, Ala., Leah Joseph, 25, of Raceland and Nicholas Hymel, 27, of Golden Meadow consented to searches of their persons and the car, deputies said.

Baggies of suspected meth, suspected marijauana, a digital scale, rolling papers and a pipe were found, deputies said.

Stevens was charged with driving under suspension, possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless operation and operation of a clandestine laboratory. Hymeland Joseph were charged with the same crimes, except for the vehicle related offenses.

An additional person, Michael Matherne, 32, of Cut Off) is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Angie Terrebonne, 20, of Lockport, was charged with possession of marijuana.

The south Lafourche methamphetamine investigation continues, Sheriff Craig Webre said.
