Low carb diets may not be for you

Losing weight on a certain type of diet may not be good for your overall health.

A new study finds that people who dieted on low carbs and high fat lost the same amount of weight as people on a high carb diet, but the people on the low carb, high fat diet, saw their bad cholesterol increase significantly, while it fell in the high-carb group.

Remember that fruits, vegetables and whole wheat grains are the carbs you want in your diet.

There may be a simple way to help people suffering emotionally from a chronic illness.

Anxiety is common among people who have an illness such as heart and circulatory problems, fibromyalgia, arthritis, chronic pain, mental health problems, cancer, and COPD breathing disorders. But now a new study finds strong evidence that regular exercise can reduce anxiety in those patients by 20 percent.

Anxiety often is not recognized or treated by doctors treating chronic illness.

Pregnant women who are worried about taking medicine for depression because of its effect on the unborn baby's brain may have a new option.

A new study finds that a couple of months of acupuncture may help reduce the severity of their symptoms by half. They no longer had all the criteria of major depression.

Doctors say there still needs to be more studies on this and say that acupuncture treatments may vary from one provider to the next.

And finally, a study finds that when you find someone physically attractive, you will rate that person as funnier. The more attractive you find him or her, the funnier he or she becomes.

Researcher believe that humor signals a person that you are receptive to forming a closer bond.
