JEFFERSON, La. – A man wanted by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office for a murder in Bridge City was arrested Thursday in Marksville, La., according to sheriff’s office spokesman Sgt. Larry Dyess.
Keith Girod, 24, was wanted by police in connection with the shooting death of Reginald Lewis on July 22 in the 1400 block of Utah Beach.
“Homicide Detectives identified Keith Girod as the suspect in the investigation and obtained an arrest warrant for one count of Second degree Murder,” said Dyess. “Attempts to locate Girod proved unsuccessful as investigators received information he may have left the area.”
U.S. marshalls located and apprehended Girod as a fugitive out of Jefferson Parish and an unrelated drug violation. According to police, Girod will be arrested on one count second-degree murder when he is transferred to back Jefferson Parish.
