GRETNA, La. - A Jackson, Mississippi man in town for a family reunion has died in a hotel pool, according to Gretna Police.
A spokesman said that 23-year-old Jeremy Davis was racing with another family member in the pool at the Quality Inn on the Westbank Expressway around 11 a.m.
The spokesman said that when he went into the deep end, Davis went under and couldn't make it out.
EMS workers transported Davis to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The coroner's office will perform an autopsy Monday.
