NEW ORLEANS -- Police are looking for a man who ran off with two Rolexes worth over $75,000 from Jack Sutton Fine Jewelry at Canal Place Tuesday, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Around 11 a.m., the man walked into the jewelry store at 365 Canal St. and asked to see two watches.  He told the store clerk he wanted to buy a Rolex as a gift, according to police.

"He inquired if he could compare two watches.  The sales clerk gave the man both watches, which were placed onto his wrists so he could compare them.  Once both watches were on his wrist, he ran out of the store and was able get away with both watches," NOPD said in a statement.

The two watches the man stole are  "a Rolex Submariner oyster bracelet with blue dial and blue bezel, valued at $34,250 and a 1998 Rolex platinum with day and date valued at $42,000," police said.

Police have released two images of the suspect wanted by police. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
