MANDEVILLE, La. – St. Tammany deputies are searching for a man who they say attempted to rob a bank Tuesday on the Northshore.
Capt. George Bonnett, a spokesman for the St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office, said the suspect approached a teller at about 2:50 p.m. at the Whitney National Bank on Highway 59 north of Mandeville. He presented a note demanding cash, but fled before obtaining any money.
Bonnett said the man is about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a heavy build, white and aged in mid to late 40s. He was wearing a light blue baseball cap, red polo shirt, and khaki shorts, and was carrying an attaché case during the attempt.
