NEW ORLEANS -- A 47-year-old man riding a motorcycle died Sunday after he hit a parked car, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
The accident happened near the intersection of Elysian Fields Avenue and Stephen Girard Drive around 5 p.m.
The man was traveling north on Elysian Fields Avenue when he hit a parked vehicle on the shoulder of the road. He lost control, struck a tree and was ejected from the bike.
The man was pronounced dead on the scene.
A toxicology result is pending. He won't be identified until his family is notified.
