NEW ORLEANS - A 45-year-old man was killed when he ran a light and his motorcycle was struck by a car early Sunday, according to the NOPD.
The incident occurred around 1 a.m. near the intersection of St. Claude and Franklin Avenue.
According to police, Andwel Jones, 45, was traveling east on St. Claude when he failed to stop and went through the intersection despite a traffic light. Police said the bike was struck by an Acura that was traveling on Franklin Avenue.
The cyclist was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the car was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
No charges were filed.
