NEW ORLEANS -- An accident involving several vehicles eastbound at the end of the Earhart Expressway just before Carrollton Avenue at Monroe Street backed up traffic during the morning commute.
A delivery truck as well as multiple cars were involved.
Traffic was restricted one lane in the area. All lanes reopened around 9:15 a.m.
NOPD has confirmed that there were injuries in the accident. The Coca-Cola truck and several of the other vehicles involved in the pileup were towed away around 8:45 a.m.
Motorists are advised to take Airline Highway or River Road as alternate routes.
